A Month of Gratitude, Day 2

What brings me gratitude? This month, I’m sharing a daily gratitude journal to help me through my annual seasonal depression.

I promise my second entry is genuine.

I am grateful for the creative genius that is Ted Lasso. Yes, I am grateful for a TV show. What Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly created is something that we all needed in 2020 and 2021. It’s proof that the nice guy can win, while also showing that we all have our own personal struggles.

Besides Sudeikis’s amazing lip whiskers, the writing is funny, real, and relatable. Like Sudeikis said during his SNL monologue, it’s ironic that Ted Lasso has become so popular in America because it focuses on two things Americans hate: soccer and kindness.

It made me so happy to see so many Ted Lasso costumes for Halloween, but it also made me sad when mean people dressed up as Ted. That’s not what the show is about. Ted breaks down those walls to bring out the best in all of us.

Ted is what we needed. Of course, my wife Ashleigh watches it for Roy. I don’t blame her.

What are you thankful for this year?
